Digital marketing professionals may find that the new auto-translation tool from search engine giant Google can aid them in their search engine optimisation campaigns.
Google recently announced the release of the service, which allows internet users to automatically translate web pages from their browser.
According to Tim Gibbon, co-founder and editor of the Social Media Portal, the tool could open up opportunities for both individuals and business owners.
"Social communications work even better when the flow of conversation is quicker, open and is free from interruption or delay," he commented.
Mr Gibbon added that although English is considered the web's universal language, many users will find websites in other languages to their mother tongue through search engines.
This could mean that digital marketing professionals may be able to exploit the new tool in order to reach new markets.
Sam Tilson, SEO expert and marketing director for Memorybits, explained that digital marketing professionals will be able to use the service to bring overseas visitors to their sites more easily.
"It will still be necessary for sites to be found by foreign users in order to be translated," he commented.
This means that digital marketing professionals will need to use tactics such as including keywords on web pages in foreign languages in order to ensure the sites show up in search engine results pages, he stated.
