SEO 'could be aided by Google auto-translation tool'

Digital marketing professionals who are running search engine optimisation (SEO) campaigns may be able to use Google's auto-translation tool to increase the number of overseas visitors to their site, it has been stated.
Online computer memory peripherals store Memorybits said that using the new auto-translation tool from the search engine giant could help digital marketing professionals to reach foreign consumers.
Sam Tilson, SEO expert and marketing director for Memorybits, said that foreign language could be used within the text of a page to target overseas internet users.
By carrying out this tactic, he explained that non-UK viewers will see the site's results in search engine results pages in their own country and Google will then be able to auto-translate the page for them.
However, he pointed out that this method may not turn out to be useful for all websites who sell products and services online.
"E-commerce and advertising driven sites may not want their sites to be viewed by foreign traffic as it is not possible for them to purchase and the advertising may not be applicable to them," he commented.
The latest figures from Internet World Statistics show the English language is the most commonly used online, but that there are also 384 million Chinese and 96 million Japanese users that digital marketing professionals could potentially reach by targeting their SEO campaigns.
