Maintaining a presence in the blogosphere is a great way of improving search engine optimisation (SEO).

This is according to Drop Ship News blogger Madison Claire, who offered guidance on the best ways to get websites higher in search engine results pages using new media.

She said blogs are a good place to build inbound links - and commenting and adding trackbacks on other companies' or individuals' pages is a health habit to get into.

When adding this material, is important to include a link back to your own blog or website, the digital marketing commentator explained.

Other recommendations included looking into pay-per-click management and getting a handle on social media.

Ms Claire also highlighted the usefulness of social bookmarking, a practice where each post is tagged with a relevant topic.

"One of the best ways of building inbound links is to post great content to your business blog or social media posts. Building inbound links is a wonderful way to improve SEO for your ecommerce website," she concluded.

In related news, online shopping solutions provider Zippy Cart recently suggested ecommerce stores should capitalise on social media when devising an SEO strategy.

It said inbound links give sites "more clout … with Google".ADNFCR-2033-ID-19503017-ADNFCR
